Do I have the patience

ok... it'll be sitting there waiting for me... but when is a polite time to stop and pick it up... I've been making it worse by looking at all the discussions going on about it. And I'm convinced that my former reading partner is dead or at least now chained to his desk since he got a promotion.

And to top that off I have 4 days until I get to go run in real grass
and drink good water again
and get away from 118 temps
and eat good food
and see some puppies
and see some friends
and go to some parties
and be by water again
and be in an urban enviroment
and see my folks
and laugh till my cheeks and abs hurt or pee my pants
and go to class (maybe)
and play some magic
and ride the el
and see some friends
and I could go on and on

Getting kidnapped

So, getting kidnapped isn't always a bad thing. Today Lynne and Ryan kidnapped me and took me up to Mt Charleston. First time I had ever been up there and to my amazement there was still snow. In the valley it's 111 degrees but up there, there's still snow. You could smell it before you saw it. Cool stuff. We hiked for about an hour and then sat down and I played with the puppy while Joe and Ryan played the guitar. Lynne was rummaging around in the car and I have no idea what steve was up to but I did have a good time.

Ok... Maybe I am going

Teardown Pictures
Here's a bunch of pictures from the teardown from one of the parties Las Vegas threw for it's 100th birthday... Look out there are injury pictures at the end for any of you who are squeemish... but it was fun for the most part. It started not getting fun after the sun was out for a few hours. The temp hit 111 that day, the steel was hot by that time and there was no shade at all. I did get a nice burn. I only made it till 3pm but others actually made it through until 5:30 pm. The gig orginally started at midnight. But I would say not bad at all considering I didn't get the call until 10 pm, had gotten up around noon that day, hadn't really eaten like I would have if I had known. Actually, I would have spent my fourth of July completely different if I knew I was about to pull a 16 hour shift but hey, it's money right? My leg is doing Ok right now... I imagine that the bruising will come out in the next couple of days and the pain will go away if I ever stop bumping it. It's right in the spot that you would set things like an elbow on your lap, put a book on it or hit it while going to the bathroom. I know, you didn't need to know that last part but who else do I have to complain to? I should be adding a few more pictures once Steve has decided to send me them. He just got a digital camera. Oh, and I did get to see the end of the concert.

Just a Glance - Holy Shit

Ok... So Lynne, Steve, Scott (Steve's little bro) and I were all called out to work tearing down the Chili Pepper's Concert. So we go in at midnight and work until about 6 in the morning. Lynne and I were ready to work another 10 hours and so, of course, we had to turn on the music and start dancing in the car as we were taking S & S home. Anyway, while listening to Green Day, I look over to the car next to us... and see this black fuzzy thing on this guy's lap and think... That's a weird kinda dog for that guy to have and then it hits me... Just as it does the light turns green, Lynne takes off. I turn and say "Holy Shit, the guy in the car next to us is getting a blow job!!!!!!!" Everyone responds with a "No way" I take the defense, how in the world could I make up something like that. All I get is raised eyebrows. So, Lynne decides that she's gonna call my bluff and slows down... We catch up to the car and the guy looks over at us smiles and nods his head. Lynne honks the horn while S & S are giving him the thumbs up and I just continue laughing. We all laughed until we dropped S & S off... Well, now what do we do considering it's now 7 am, we've been up all night and just got a good laugh... I'm wide awake and so was Lynne.

My error message

Here's my error message for my HP printer... The printer cannot print because you have not specified a printer model. Select the Chooser. Then select your printer, click the "set-up" button & select your model in the Type menu.

Ok... now here's the problem... The driver I downloaded from the HP site doesn't list any models in the type menu. Therefore, I can't select any to set it up. I looked on Apple System Profiler and it shows my usb port... But if I'm in the control pannel for Apple Talk it only shows the ethernet, printer, and modem ports. Am I missing something in between that I don't know about? I've turned appletalk on and off... tried to see if I could just use another printer profile... hmmmm what else.... moved the extension for the downloaded driver in the printer descriptions folder... that didn't work, it just removed my desktop printer... and that's all that I think I've done.

Couple of things

So the other day I went on this durge about having to take a vacation because I didn't get on the gig that I was told I was gonna. I went on and on about the things I did in my apt this week to entertain myself because I couldn't do anything else... I based part of my spending budget on that gig. Paid a bunch of bills and then ended up not getting the gig and found myself out of work and money. So here I go on and on and knew that I spelled a few things wrong so I hit spell check... and boom it's gone. So, the one thing that I will mention is laying in my hammock and blowing bubbles... That was fun. :)
